This system comprises of a screw conveyor inclined at a maximum angle of 60° feeding coal into a hopper with two bin level control bindicators. This system can handle up to 3 ton/hour of coal, and is fully automatic. The coal is fed from the coal bunker outside the boiler house into the hopper and then to the boiler stoker. The coal hopper is fitted with two bindicators. The bindicator at the lower level switches the conveyor on when coal is required. The upper level bindicator automatically switches the screw conveyor off when the hopper is full.
In the unlikely event of a top bindicator failure, coal is passed out of the emergency discharge, thereby preventing any damage to the screw conveyor.
NOTE: Scheme 1 is shown utilizing a single boiler. It may also be used with a twin stoker boiler. The system is then adapted to the bifurcated type chute with one high level control bindicator and two low level control bindicators.

TWIN BOILER FEED UNIT
This twin boiler unit, consists of an inclined screw conveyor, with an output capacity at 3 tone per hour, and a horizontal screw conveyor. The horizontal conveyor feeds through gates into hoppers, with level control bindicators into the two boilers as shown on diagram. This system is fully automatic and works as follows:
The coal hoppers are fitted with automatic bindicators. One at the lower level which switches the screw conveyors on delivering coal to the hoppers.
The upper level bindicator is used to switch the screw conveyors off when the hoppers are filled.
In the unlikely event of a top bindicator failure, coal is passed out of the emergency discharge hereby preventing any damage to the screw conveyors.
